Grape varieties and terroir

A 100% Pinot Noir single-varietal, this cuvée comes from the "Les Rugiens" terroir, an elite hillside terroir on clay-limestone soils rich in iron oxide. This soil gives the wine an impressive tannic structure and a mineral depth typical of the greatest Pommard.

Tasting

Color: Intense red, with deep garnet reflections.

Nose: Powerful bouquet of black fruits (blackberry, black cherry), peppery spices, liquorice and characteristic earthy notes.

Palate: Concentrated and structured, with dense and silky tannins, generous body and marked minerality. Long and vibrant finish, both firm and elegant.

Storage Potential

A great wine for laying down, designed to age magnificently over 15 to 30 years, developing tertiary aromas of truffle, leather and undergrowth.

Food and Wine Pairings

This Pommard Rugiens 1er Cru will go wonderfully with a fillet of beef in a crust, venison with grand veneur sauce, roast pigeon or even strong cheeses such as Époisses or mature Comté.
