Coming from the deep Garonne gravel that characterizes the Saint-Julien terroir, Château Gruaud Larose favors a blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with a touch of Merlot and Petit Verdot. This filtering soil favors the expression of full-bodied, elegant wines made for aging.

Tasting

Color: Tile-like ruby color, with brown nuances showing beautiful development.

Nose: Scent of sweet spices, undergrowth, blond tobacco and candied stone fruits.

Palate: Supple attack, melted tannins, harmonious whole with a delicately persistent and subtly smoky finish.

Storage Potential

In this magnum format, the Château Gruaud Larose 1984 has benefited from optimal aging. Perfectly ripe today, it can still be cellared for a few years.

Food and Wine Pairings

Ideal with roasted pheasant feathers, beef fillet with chanterelles, or a platter of mature cheeses. Also perfect to accompany a meal for lovers of great Bordeaux vintages.
