The Gruaud Larose vineyard lies on deep Garonne gravel ridges, ensuring optimal drainage and perfect grape ripeness. The historic grape varieties are predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec, giving the wine its structure and legendary aging potential.
