Grape varieties and terroir

Made from the estate's young vines, Pavillon Rouge is composed primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, accompanied by Merlot, Petit Verdot, and a touch of Cabernet Franc. The plots are planted in deep gravel soils, typical of Margaux, giving the wine elegance, complexity, and remarkable aging potential.

Tasting

Color: Deep garnet red with subtle tiled reflections, a signature of the evolution.

Nose: Complex bouquet combining stewed black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), cedar, blond tobacco, noble leather and notes of truffle and sweet spices.

Palate: Velvety attack, perfectly melted tannins, ample and balanced palate. Long and silky finish, with aromas of undergrowth, liquorice and graphite.

Storage Potential

20-30 years (at full maturity).

Food and Wine Pairings

Perfect with roasted red meats, herby saddle of lamb, duck with figs, or mature hard cheeses like aged Comté or summer Beaufort.
