Grape varieties and terroir

Château Palmer's vineyard is planted with fine gravel typical of the appellation, promoting excellent drainage and optimal grape ripeness. The 2020 blend is composed primarily of Merlot, accompanied by Cabernet Sauvignon and a touch of Petit Verdot, giving the wine complexity, structure, and a characteristic floral elegance.

Tasting

Color: Intense purple with garnet reflections, brilliant and deep.

Nose: Expressive bouquet of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), floral nuances of violet, and subtle aromas of cedar and sweet spices.

Palate: Velvety attack, dense and silky texture, elegant tannins, great freshness. Persistent finish marked by notes of truffle and blond tobacco.

Château Palmer

Château Palmer, Third Grand Cru Classé of Margaux since 1855, is one of the most emblematic estates of the appellation. Located on 66 hectares of gravel, its atypical grape variety gives an important place to Merlot alongside Cabernet Sauvignon. Owned by the Sichel and Mahler-Besse families since 1938, the château has been cultivating its vines biodynamically since 2014.
