Tasting note | The Delamotte Blanc de Blancs 2018 reveals itself in a pale gold dress with green reflections, animated by a fine and persistent effervescence. The first nose seduces with its floral freshness, blending hawthorn, lime tree, and vine flower, before evolving towards notes of ripe citrus (bergamot, Menton lemon), crunchy pear, and wet chalk. The mouth is chiseled, straight, and airy, true to the mineral signature of the great Chardonnays of the Côte des Blancs. The attack is lively, followed by a tense and salty heart of the mouth, carried by a caressing and perfectly integrated bubble. Touches of white almond, candied zest, and discreet brioche enrich a clear, subtly chalky structure. The finish is long, elegant, and leaves an impression of purity and precision. |
