Grape varieties and terroir

The Valandraud vineyard lies on clay-limestone and siliceous-gravel soils, characteristic of the great terroirs of Saint-Émilion. The 2018 blend is dominated by Merlot, accompanied by Cabernet Franc and a touch of Cabernet Sauvignon, giving the wine depth and complexity.

Tasting

Color: Deep red with garnet reflections, intense and brilliant.

Nose: Notes of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), sweet spices, licorice and subtle touches of cedar and dark chocolate.

Palate: Full and silky, with perfectly coated tannins, a beautiful mineral tension and a long, persistent and elegant finish.
