Grape varieties and terroir

Typical assembly:

- Cabernet Sauvignon (51%): structure, depth, aging potential
- Merlot (45%): roundness, velvety
- Petit Verdot (4%): spices, aromatic complexity

The vines rest on deep Garonne gravel ridges, ensuring perfect drainage and optimal ripening of the grapes.

Tasting

Color: Intense purple red, with violet highlights.

Nose: Expressive and refined, blending aromas of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), violet, liquorice, with spicy touches (pepper, nutmeg) and a subtle note of cedar.

Palate: Full and velvety attack, dense but perfectly coated tannins. Beautiful energy on the palate, with a remarkable balance between the richness of the fruit and a persistent mineral freshness. The finish is long, saline, with notes of graphite and spices.

Storage Potential

A wine with great potential, which will improve over 20 to 30 years, gaining in tertiary complexity (truffle, undergrowth, tobacco).

Food and Wine Pairings

This great Saint-Julien will enhance:

- Wood-grilled rib of beef
- Rack of lamb in a herb crust
- Duck with figs and sweet spices
- Risotto with black truffles
- Hard cheeses (Comté, extra-mature Mimolette)

Château Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle, Fourth Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien since 1855, seduces with its history and elegance. The estate spans 90 hectares of Garonne gravel, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Nicknamed the “Versailles of Médoc,” it owes its name to Admiral Jean-Louis de Nogaret, whose coat of arms adorns the famous bottle with the ship. Owned by the Castel and Suntory group, Beychevelle combines tradition, precision, and modernity. Its wines, charming, silky, and balanced, perfectly embody the refined style of Saint-Julien.
