Grape varieties and terroir

Typical assembly of the left bank:

- Cabernet Sauvignon (52%): structure, power, aging potential
- Merlot (40%): roundness, silkiness
- Petit Verdot (5%) & Cabernet Franc (3%): complexity and aromatic depth

The vines lie on a terroir of deep Garonne gravel, promoting excellent drainage and allowing the grapes to reach perfect maturity.

Tasting

Color: Deep garnet red, with slightly purple highlights, intense and brilliant.

Nose: Complex and refined bouquet, mixing ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), floral touches (violet) and subtle woody notes (cedar, graphite), with an elegant touch of sweet spices.

Palate: Full and silky attack, dense and perfectly integrated tannins. Beautiful depth on the palate, with a remarkable balance between power and freshness. The finish is long and harmonious, with notes of candied fruit, spices and blond tobacco.

Storage Potential

In this 6L imperial format, the storage capacity is multiplied: the wine will be able to evolve serenely over 30 to 40 years, gaining in complexity and silkiness over time.

Food and Wine Pairings

This exceptional Saint-Julien will enhance:

- Grilled or crusted beef ribs
- Roasted leg of milk-fed lamb
- Game birds with grand veneur sauce
- Matured hard cheeses (Comté, Salers)
- Truffled or porcini-based dishes

Château Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle, Fourth Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien since 1855, seduces with its history and elegance. The estate spans 90 hectares of Garonne gravel, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Nicknamed the “Versailles of Médoc,” it owes its name to Admiral Jean-Louis de Nogaret, whose coat of arms adorns the famous bottle with the ship. Owned by the Castel and Suntory group, Beychevelle combines tradition, precision, and modernity. Its wines, charming, silky, and balanced, perfectly embody the refined style of Saint-Julien.
