Grape varieties and terroir

Typical assembly:

- Cabernet Sauvignon (52%): structure, freshness and aging capacity
- Merlot (40%): roundness, suppleness
- Petit Verdot (5%) & Cabernet Franc (3%): aromatic complexity and tension

The vineyard lies on deep gravel typical of Saint-Julien, allowing for even ripeness of the grapes and great precision in the wines.

Tasting

Color: Bright garnet red, with light tiled highlights, showing beautiful development.

Nose: Subtle and elegant, with aromas of ripe red fruits (redcurrant, cherry), violet, with touches of cedar, blond tobacco and undergrowth.

Palate: Supple and silky attack, fine and melted tannins. Beautifully balanced structure between freshness and maturity, with a persistent finish on notes of red fruits, sweet spices and minerality.

Storage Potential

At perfect maturity today, this Château Beychevelle 2011 can still be kept for 5 to 8 years, evolving towards more pronounced tertiary aromas (leather, truffle).

Food and Wine Pairings

This refined Saint-Julien will enhance:

- Beef fillet with mushrooms
- Grilled lamb chop with herbs
- Chicken supreme with morels
- Matured soft cheeses (Brillat-Savarin, Saint-Nectaire)

Château Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle, Fourth Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Julien since 1855, seduces with its history and elegance. The estate spans 90 hectares of Garonne gravel, primarily planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Nicknamed the “Versailles of Médoc,” it owes its name to Admiral Jean-Louis de Nogaret, whose coat of arms adorns the famous bottle with the ship. Owned by the Castel and Suntory group, Beychevelle combines tradition, precision, and modernity. Its wines, charming, silky, and balanced, perfectly embody the refined style of Saint-Julien.
