Grape varieties and terroir

The typical Saint-Émilion blend:

- 75 to 80% Merlot: roundness, velvety and delicious
- 20 to 25% Cabernet Franc: freshness, tension and aromatic finesse

The vineyard is based on clay-limestone and molasse soils from Fronsadais, promoting perfect water regulation and producing wines that are both structured and airy.

Tasting

Color: Deep garnet red, with tiled highlights, heralding a beautiful development.

Nose: Fine and complex, revealing aromas of ripe red fruits (cherry, candied strawberry), violet, blond tobacco and undergrowth, with a discreet touch of cedar and sweet spices.

Palate: Supple and silky attack, elegant structure with melted tannins. The whole is harmonious, carried by a delicate freshness and a long mineral finish, typical of great limestone terroirs.

Storage Potential

The 2012 Château Berliquet is at its peak, offering a beautiful aromatic complexity. It can still be kept for 5 to 7 years, evolving towards more pronounced tertiary notes (leather, truffle).

Food and Wine Pairings

Perfect companion for:

- Pork tenderloin with chanterelles
- Grilled lamb chops with rosemary
- Duck breast with cherries
- Mushroom risotto
- Soft ripened cheeses (Camembert, truffled Brie)
