Grape varieties and terroir

The 2010 Château Cheval Blanc is composed of 52% Merlot and 48% Cabernet Franc, an ideal combination for this unique Saint-Émilion terroir. The dominant Merlot grape variety provides roundness and fruitiness, while the Cabernet Franc lends elegance, freshness, and structure. Cheval Blanc's terroir, composed of sandy-gravelly and clayey soils, allows the grapes to develop complex aromas and achieve a beautiful concentration of flavors, producing a wine of great finesse and great aging potential.

Tasting

Dress :
A deep, intense, and brilliant red color with purple highlights. The color reflects the wine's youth and concentration.
Nose :
The nose is highly complex, revealing aromas of ripe black fruits (blackcurrant, blackberry), subtle floral notes, licorice, and spicy touches of pepper and cocoa. Hints of graphite and tobacco gradually reveal themselves, adding depth and refinement to the overall effect.
Mouth :
The attack is full and velvety, with perfectly integrated tannins and a beautiful structure. The palate is rich and concentrated, with flavors of black fruits, vanilla, and dark chocolate, followed by earthy and mineral notes that bring a beautiful complexity. The finish is long and elegant, with a beautiful persistence of fruity and spicy aromas.
