Grape varieties and terroir

Typical assembly of the left bank:

- Cabernet Sauvignon (60-70%): backbone, tension, aging potential
- Merlot (25-30%): suppleness and roundness
- Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot (5-10%): complexity and depth

The vines are located on deep gravelly ridges, emblematic of Pauillac, which ensure excellent drainage and even ripening of the berries.

Tasting

Color: Deep red with purple highlights, a sign of beautiful concentration.

Nose: Precise and refined, revealing aromas of blackcurrant, wild blackberry and plum, mixed with notes of cedar, blond tobacco and pencil lead, in the pure Lafite tradition.

Palate: Supple and elegant attack, dense and perfectly structured mid-palate. The tannins are very fine, supported by balanced acidity. Long and harmonious finish, with notes of black fruits and sweet spices.

Storage Potential

Accessible from the first 5 years, the Carruades de Lafite 2020 will be able to evolve gracefully for 15 to 20 years, developing complex aromas of undergrowth, leather and truffle.
